Onsite brewery: Blind Boy Brewing

Award-winning, stigma-smashing beers - poured Friday & Saturday.

Grab a drink at the Shed

You can make Food Connect Shed your local thanks to tenant Blind Boy Brewing - one of the best breweries on Brisbane’s south side.

As well as brewing their (16 and counting) craft beers right here, their chilled out taproom is open on Fridays and Saturdays - look for the signs after you come in our main entry on Commerce St. Made with quality natural ingredients, their small batch beers are balanced and approachable - knocking the socks of beer nerds, while welcoming the craft-curious in without any snobbery.

Blind Boy is founded and run by Jacob Viel, who's been perfecting his craft for over a decade. Legally blind, Jacob found it hard to break into the industry he loved so much - so he took things into his own hands, making some cracking beers and proving misconceptions (what ‘legally blind’ means, what people with different abilities are capable of) wrong. The results speak for themselves - several Blind Boy beers have taken home major awards, and Jacob was recently named QLD Emerging Brewer of the Year.

Fridays are perfect for relaxed knock-off drinks with mates, while ‘Saturday Shed Sesh’ takes it up a notch with live music, a rotating roster of food trucks, and the occasional something extra (keep an eye on the Shed’s wider Whats On page) - great community vibe.
