Shed Bulk Buyers Club
Good food, fair prices, stronger community.
The Shed Buyers Club is a volunteer-run bulk buyers’ group (kinda like a co-op) based here at the Shed. Each month, the group comes together to order directly from ethical, local farmers and producer, combining buying power so everyone can access fresh, seasonal food at wholesale prices.
From spray-free fruit and veg to pantry staples and specialty products, members work together to decide what to order based on what’s in season and available. By shopping this way, more of your food dollars go directly to the people who grow and make it, and less gets waste.
Joining the club means more than just saving money. It’s about connecting with others who care about where their food comes from, sharing the work of ordering and packing, and being part of a grassroots, community-driven food system.
How it works:
Meet 2-3 weeks ahead of packing date to discuss thoughts on previous items, what to order next time.
Place orders.
Pack and collect food together at the Shed once a month (generally 4-6pm on a Thursday).
Share tasks (like placing orders with farmers, collecting from markets) around so everyone can take part
Membership is just a one-off $50 fee (to help pay farmers promptly and buy supplies like paper bags), with food ordered and paid for monthly.
What you can buy
Local, sprayfree fruit and vegetables
Drygoods like rice, pasta, lentils
Artisan small-batch goodies from Shed tenants like Sabarac, Ta’ameya and Nero Distillery
Natural cleaning products
